Camp Ocala

Camp Ocala is a traditional camping and environmental complex. It is located on the shores of Sellers Lake in the Ocala National Forest, conveniently close to Juniper and Alexander Springs. Modern sleeping, dining and meeting facilities dot the picturesque landscape.

Camp Ocala is open to the public year-round and may be reserved for a variety of uses:

  • School field trips
  • Church retreats
  • Family reunions
  • Business meetings
  • Teacher In-service training
  • Civic Organizations
  • Athletic Groups
  • Weddings and more....

Educational, Business, Family & Church Retreats

Camp Ocala limits distraction and is a perfect place for business or educational groups to "get away" and concentrate on the lessons at hand. The Camp's meeting rooms are perfect for workshops and demonstrations. The dining hall, outdoor pavilion and other areas of the facility are ideal for lectures, guest speakers and group presentations and small group learning or brainstorming sessions.

Environmental Education

In addition to overnight camping, Camp Ocala also offers daytime field trips for school groups. The Environmental Education Program offers 1-3 day field trip experiences for youth in second grade through high school.

Programs at the Camp bring science to life in this living laboratory. Groups of "campers" observe, explore and interact with nature in an informal setting of experiential learning. The 4-H Environmental Education Curriculum can serve as a guide for your outdoor experiences, or you can design your own.

Skills necessary for the careful use of our natural resources are taught during custom-designed programs in soil and water conservation, forest and wildlife ecology, and other environmental topics. Trained 4-H staff will design a hands-on learning experience for any age group. This natural setting is an excellent way to gain a better understanding of our natural world.
