Organization Overview:

4-H is the nation’s largest positive youth development organization with more than 6 million members. Florida 4-H is the youth development organization of UF/IFAS Extension, and currently engages more than 200,000 members across the State. 4-H utilizes the resources of the University of Florida and nationwide land grant university system to deliver a non-formal, practical educational program for youth.

The Florida 4-H Club Foundation, Inc. is a 501c3 Direct Support Organization (DSO) of the University of Florida and is the fiscal agent for Florida 4-H.

Internship Description:

Seeking an undergraduate student interested in pursuing a career in non-profit development and/or alumni relations. Duties may include:

• Assist with donor acknowledgement and stewardship

• Input data into donor database and create reports

• Assist in the planning and execution of alumni and donor events

• Exposure to management of a non-profit Board of Directors

• Assist in the maintenance of relevant pages of the Florida 4-H webpage

• Research potential grants and prospective donors

• Explore ways to connect with alumni and collect current contact information

• Additional duties may arise based on organizational needs and interests of the intern

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills Organized and detail-oriented Ability to work independently Experience with internet-based research Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and Access Interest in non-profit sector

Time Requirement:

20 hours per week, Monday – Friday (flexible around class schedule) Minimum of one (1) semester
