Being a successful leader requires many things.  Some habits of a successful leader include “Being Proactive,” “Begining with the end in mind,” and “putting first things first.”  The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens will be the focus of Leadership Adventure Weekend this year.  The 7 habits curriculum helps individuals understand that different perspectives exist and there are many solutions to a common problem.  Florida 4-H will be hosting this 3-day event to prepare our leaders to be successful and to open their eyes to havits of successful leaders.  The goal is for participants to use newly acquired skills in their counties and districts to be effective in all aspects of 4-H.  4-Her’s will also learn more about 4-H opportunities, effective communication, and how to be an effective member of a team.

Objectives for this event:

  • To share the importance of being the best leader you can be
  • To educate 4-H youth leaders of the 7 habits of highly effective teens
  • To actively engage youth in learning about leadership and the habits necessary to be a successful leader
  • For participants to utilize their newfound knowledge to be effective through all levels of 4-H
