Food Preparation - Microwaves

In the 4-H Microwave Food Preparation projects, you will learn:

  • how to use knowledge, skills, and better practices relating to personal health and safety;
  • how to increase positive activities that promote physical health and well-being; and
  • skills such as decision-making, getting along with others, planning and organizing, and responsibility.

FOOD PREPARATION - Level 1 (Ages 8-10)

  • Bag of Tricks & Treats teaches 4-Hers about how the microwave works, learning to use the microwave safely and preparing foods such as scrambled eggs, apples, popcorn treats, fudge and desserts. Available through National 4-H Council.

FOOD PREPARATION - Level 2 (Ages 11-13)

  • Micro Magicians teaches 4-Hers about preparing foods such as potatoes, vegetables, pudding bar cookies, beans, upside down cake and brownies. Available through National 4-H Council.

FOOD PREPARATION - Level 3 (Ages 14-18)

Leader/Helper Guide

This Helper's Guide will help you support youth in his or her efforts to set goals and complete activities, as well as providing resources for the member's to use in completing the series. Available through National 4-H Council.
