Wildlife & Fisheries Adult Leader Recognition
This award, sponsored the U.S. Department of Fish and Wildlife Service, the National 4-H Program and Florida 4-H, honors volunteer leaders who assist 4-H youth in learning about wildlife and fisheries conservation and management. State award recipient’s application will be submitted for national awards. Applications are due to the State 4-H office by November 1.
National 4-H Hall of Fame
This award honors 4-H volunteers, supporters, staff and pioneers who made major contributions to 4-H at a local, state and national level. The application will be distributed from the National 4-H Headquarters and must be submitted to the State 4-H Office by January 15. The State 4-H Office will then submit the applications to nationals.
Salute to Excellence Volunteer Recognition
The Salute to Excellence Award honors and recognizes 4-H volunteers who demonstrate exemplary service to 4-H, while promoting service through volunteerism as both an opportunity and a privilege. State award recipient’s application will be submitted for regional and national awards. State 4-H programs are invited to nominate two outstanding individual volunteers, one in each of two categories. The Lifetime Volunteer Award is given to an individual who has spent 10 or more years volunteering for 4-H. The Volunteer of the Year Award is given to an individual who has volunteered for 4-H less than 10 years. Applications are due to the State 4-H office by December 1.
Outstanding 4-H Volunteer Award Trips
Each year, three adult volunteers will be selected to receive an Outstanding 4-H Volunteer Award Trip. These award trips include: the National 4-H Congress in Atlanta , Georgia , the National 4-H Conference in Washington , D.C. , and the Southern Region Leader Forum in Eatonton , Georgia . Award recipients will be honored during State 4-H Congress. Applications are due to the State 4-H office by 4:30 on June 1.
Walter B. Arnold, Jr. Young Adult Hall of Fame Award
This award recognizes former 4-H members who continue to demonstrate leadership through sustained and significant service to their community. Any young adult, age 19 -30 at time of nomination, previously enrolled in 4-H with a long-term record of service in their local community may apply for this award. Recipient will be honored during 4-H Congress. Applications are due in the State 4-H office by June 1.
Florida 4-H Hall of Fame Award
The Florida 4-H Hall of Fame was created in 2002, as a 4-H Centennial project, to recognize and celebrate those people who have made a significant impact on 4-H. This award honors volunteers, supporters, staff and pioneers who made major contributions to 4-H at a local and state level. Extension employees must be out of the extension system three years before applying for Hall of Fame. Nominations for the Florida 4-H Hall of Fame must be received in the State 4-H Office by 4:30 on June 1.
Partner – in - 4-H Award
The purpose of this award is to recognize individuals, groups, business organizations, foundations, associations, governmental bodies, and other institutions that have provided sustained and significant contribution to the 4-H program. Florida 4-H will honor two Partner-in-4-H award recipients during 4-H Congress. Applications are due in the State 4-H office by June 1.
