Competitive Events with Peer Competition
4-H has a long history of offering competitive events as a part of the program, especially those associated with specific subject matter projects and activities linked to local county fairs. Florida 4-H supports an assortment of county-district-state-regional and national opportunities for youth to be recognized through peer competitions. The Florida 4-H Events and Activities Handbook (4H VOL 70) outlines all the competitive events scheduled through the State 4-H Office and the 4-H Events website provides staff, volunteers, and youth up-to-date information and links to specific competitive events throughout the calendar year.
There are specific participation criteria, rules, and regulations that govern all Florida 4-H Competitive Events. These can be found in the Events and Activities Handbook and in various other program materials as appropriate.
