County Financial Development Committee Member
Purpose
Responsible for the development and implementation of an annual fund raiser and the cultivation and development of corporate and private donors.
Length of Appointment
Sept. 1 - Aug. 31; renewable upon agreement of volunteer and 4-H Agent
Responsibilities
- Conduct an annual fund raising activity.
- Maintain current annual donors.
- Assist in identifying and developing 1-2 new donors each year.
- Help to ensure the financial viability of the 4-H program.
- CONTRIBUTE FINANCIALLY TO THE COUNTY 4-H PROGRAM.
- Increase public awareness of the 4-H program through fund raising projects.
- Attend committee meetings and fund raising events.
- Donor solicitation through personal visits, presentations, letters, telephone calls etc.
Qualifications
- Teens and adults willing to take on responsibility for securing resources for the County 4-H Program.
- Belief in the importance of youth development and the need to provide young people with out of school learning opportunities. A belief in the 4-H Program.
- Willing to work as a team member.
- Knowledge of the Cooperative Extension Service and the 4-H Program, or a willingness to learn.
- Ability to meet people easily.
- Good communication skills.

Time Required
Quarterly committee meetings, more often if needed. 1 - 3 hours weekly in addition to carrying out committee activities.
Success Criteria
Committee meets agreed upon annual goals. Financial support increases on an annual basis.
