Mission Statement

Objectives

Within Florida Youth-Adult Partnerships we aim to:

  1. Examine skills and attitudes about civic engagement
  2. Promote best practices for partnerships
  3. Provide education
  4. Build collaboration with communities

The Youth-Adult Partnership program will initiate youth-adult partnerships in leadership of agricultural related organizations like fair boards, commodity associations and Cooperative Extension committees. The program model will train both youth and adults to change traditional governance methods so youth are viewed as partners, not objects or recipients of programs. Through the program, youth will be brought to the governance table, engaged in civic responsibility and empowered to address issues of critical concern to Florida.

The 4-H Youth Development Program began in 1902 as part of the Land Grant University system. The IFAS/4-H Program and the Florida 4-H Foundation work in partnership to provide leadership and support to the county 4-H faculty to create positive youth development experiences for young people throughout Florida.

The 4-H Foundation supports this program by securing funding for current and new programs. Services include receiving and investing the Foundation’s resources, managing four residential camps and paying program expenditures.
