Chaperone Certification Program

All adults serving as chaperones for overnight events must complete the Florida 4-H Overnight Chaperone Certification Training.

Requirements to be a chaperone:

  • 21 years of age
  • Completed and passed screening and background check
  • Received recommendation of your county 4-H agent
  • Complete face-to-face and online training
  • Pass for a score of 80% or higher on the certification test

Certification will be effective for 3 years. Certified chaperones may elect to serve in a state pool of chaperones for various events state and nationwide.

STEP 1: Contact your county 4-H agent, if interested in being a chaperone. Chaperone training is held throughout the year at various state events and may be held locally depending on the need.

STEP 2: Complete the CHAPERONE TRAINING PRE-TEST.

STEP 3: Attend the face-to-face portion of the training (modules 1 & 2).

STEPS 5-8: Complete the online modules 3-6.

STEP 9: Complete the Certification Test (20 questions).

STEP 10: Complete the CHAPERONE TRAINING EVALUATION POST-TEST.
