Getting Involved
If you are between the ages of 5 and 18, you can get involved in 4-H by calling your county Extension office and asking to talk with the 4-H agent. You can also visit your county's 4-H Web site.
You can join a 4-H club in your county or sign up as an individual 4-H member. Most clubs meet on a monthly basis, although some meet more often. Florida's four 4-H camps host special programs throughout the year as well as summer camping.
You may also volunteer to assist at state level events and serve on committees. Visit our Staffing Florida 4-H page for more information and applications.
What can I do in 4-H? All kinds of things!
Some examples of 4-H projects:
- public speaking
- horses
- computers
- rocketry
- theater arts
- train your dog for show
- fashion design & construction
- environmental education
- community service/service learning

Hey Adults!
Did you know that more than 15,842 adults volunteered with the Florida 4-H program last year? Volunteering is fun and rewarding, and enables you to share your experiences with others. Read testimonies about 4-H involvement and see the difference you can make in a child's life.
You can get involved by volunteering with 4-H through your local Extension office! Contact your county Extension office to find out how to get in touch with a local 4-H representative, or check your county 4-H Web site for more information.
You can also get involved in helping 4-H by donating to the Florida 4-H Foundation.
